Through laboratory testing, using specialized labs throughout the country, one can test for those factors which become abnormal during the stage of dysfunction which in many cases is more than 10 years before disease sets in.

All of these tests are important to expose areas of dysfunction, which if left untreated will ultimately lead to heart disease, cancer and stroke as well as most other diseases.

Examples of these tests include measurements of

  1. Oxidative stress;
  2. Fibrinogen;
  3. Homocysteine;
  4. Lipoprotein (a);
  5. Fasting and 2 hour post prandial glucose and insulin;
  6. Nutrient Levels including: Vitamins A, C, E, Beta Carotene, Lycopene, Lutein, Coenzyme Co Q 10, Folate, B12 & Intracellular Magnesium;
  7. Hormone Levels including Estrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone, Dhea, T3, T4, Tsh, Somatomedin C (IGF-1) & Cortisol;
  8. Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis;
  9. Cardio C-Reactive Protein;
  10. H. Pylori;
  11. Prostate Evaluation;
  12. EDTA and DMSA Challenge Tests to detect the presence of toxic heavy metals (mercury, aluminum, lead, cadmium, arsenic and nickel);
  13. Cardiovision (an inexpensive, non-invasive way to detect cardiovascular disease);
  14. AMAS (for the early detection of cancer); and of course,
  15. Those tests routinely used including the CBC, SMAC, U/A, EKG, etc.

joggerThe importance for the patient of having these tests performed is that when dysfunction is uncovered, intervention can be initiated - not with drugs - but with lifestyle changes which include attention to nutrition (both foods and supplements consumed), exercise, stress and the avoidance of dangerous lifestyle choices, such as smoking. In addition, the following may be suggested: 1) the judicious use of natural hormone replacement; 2) the appropriate use of nutritional supplementation: 3) Chelation therapy: 4) acupuncture; 5) massage therapy; and 6) anti-aging skin care.

By implementing all of these measures, dysfunction can be corrected, and the patient will have a much greater chance of preserving health and avoiding disease. In fact, this approach was endorsed by a study undertaken by the US Government Department of Agriculture back in 1972 in which it was determined that most illness is nutritionally related, and that a 50% or greater reduction in the incidence of heart disease, cancer, stroke and other health problems could be achieved through appropriate diet and lifestyle changes.
